My self-portrait was inspired by the work of Tim Gardner. Gardner is an American-born Canadian painter whose style is painting realistic watercolors of his brothers and friends, usually somewhere in nature. He was born in 1973 in Iowa City, Iowa and attended University of Manitoba and Columbia University.

My self-portrait taught me more about cutting and erasing, managing layers, filters, and color overlay. I used a watercolor filter and gray overlays to make it look like more like Tim Gardner's watercolor painting style.
